The Madera County Workforce Assistance Center is a partnership of various community agencies, all working together to help the people of Madera County. The partner agencies listed on this page offer a variety of services to assist you. Some of the services are: assisting you with finding a job, attending school or training to improve your skills, applying for assistance with housing, rehabilitation, cash aid, food stamps, or unemployment insurance, and locating and getting involved with programs for youth. California Department of Rehabilitation: The California Department of Rehabilitation offers a variety of services for both individuals with disabilities and employers looking to hire qualified candidates. Services are tailored to each person to help them reach their employment goal. Individuals with disabilities and rehabilitation counselors work together to determine which services will provide the best support to prepare for, find, or retain a job.

Central Valley Opportunity Center: Central Valley Opportunity Center services include vocational education, remedial education, English Language instruction, housing assistance, energy payment assistance, emergency supportive services, transportation, emergency food, youth employment, health care acquisition, child care services and community education services.

Housing Authority of Madera County: The Housing Authority of the City of Madera operates rental assistance programs for persons who meet eligibility requirements. Additional resident service programs include homeownership, self-sufficiency, after school programs and school readiness programs for 3-year old children.

Programs designed for Madera County High Schools students 16-18 and out of school older youth 18-21. The program is supported by the Madera County Workforce Development Office through funds under the Workforce Investment Act. The goal of the In-School and OSY programs are to help prepare youth in obtaining skills that will assist them in gaining employment.

Madera County Department of Social Services: Madera County Department of Social Services can assist you and your family with welfare services. These services include but are not limited to Cash Assistance, Diversion Assistance, Medi-Cal Coverage, Food stamps, and Employment Services.

Madera County Office of Education / Workforce Development Office: Workforce Development Office are prepared to assist you in meeting your employment goals. We will work with your skills and abilities to assist you in finding employment or we can help you upgrade your current job skills that can lead to better employment. Training may be available to you through public schools or the community college system.

Madera Unified School District / Madera Adult School: Madera Adult School offers a wide variety of low-cost, no-cost educational opportunities. We offer classes that will prepare students for high school graduation as well as classes to pass the GED test. We offer classes in English as a Second Language and Citizenship, parenting programs and classes for older adults.
SER Jobs for Progress, Inc.: San Joaquin Valley (SER) is a non-profit, community based organization, located in Fresno County. SER provides low-income residents quality services in employment, education, and affordable housing.

State Center Community College District: State Center Community College District provides quality, innovative, and accessible educational programs and services that enhance student learning and global citizenship.

State of California Employment Development Department: Employment Development Department administers the Disability Insurance, Job Service, Unemployment Insurance, Welfare-to-Work, and referrals to other community services.
